第一代康沃利斯侯爵查尔斯·康沃利斯，KG，PC（Charles Cornwallis, 1st Marquess Cornwallis，1738年12月31日－1805年10月5日），又译康华里和康华利等，英国军人、殖民地官员及政治家，美国独立战争期间于1778年至1781年出任北美英军副总司令，任内于1781年10月约克镇围城战役大败后率大军投降。战后他于1786年至1793年出任印度总督、1798年至1801年任爱尔兰总督、1805年再任印度总督，但同年因病客死当地。

康沃利斯生于贵族之家，早年曾参与七年战争，1760年至1762年一度担任下议院议员。1775年美国独立战争爆发后，他前往北美作战，1778年起出任北美英军副总司令，1780年参与攻陷革命军在南卡罗来纳的据点查尔斯顿，其后又奉北美英军总司令亨利·克林顿爵士之命留守当地，并于同年8月的卡姆登战役击溃查尔斯顿的革命军余部。然而，他后来在1781年决定率兵转攻维珍尼亚，结果于同年10月约克镇围城战役大败后率大军投降，标志着英军在美国独立战争中大势已去。康沃利斯与克林顿爵士战后互相将战败原因归咎于对方，使两人不和关系公开，康沃利斯批评克林顿不发兵救援，而克林顿则反指康沃利斯未经批准擅离南卡罗来纳，两方就此始终争论不休。

Charles Cornwallis, 1st Marquess Cornwallis KG (31 December 1738 – 5 October 1805), styled Viscount Brome between 1753 and 1762 and known as The Earl Cornwallis between 1762 and 1792, was a British Army officer and colonial administrator. In the United States and the United Kingdom he is best remembered as one of the leading British generals in the American War of Independence. His surrender in 1781 to a combined American and French force at the Siege of Yorktown ended significant hostilities in North America. He also served as a civil and military governor in Ireland and India; in both places he brought about significant changes, including the Act of Union in Ireland, and the Cornwallis Code and the Permanent Settlement in India.
