This is the Tioga Pass. And as you can see, we're almost 10,000 feet up.

Tioga Road is impassable between October and May, but as the snow clears, the road reemerges, rising into the rugged Sierra Nevada high country.

As on the foregoing excursion, you leave the Valley by the Yosemite Falls trail and follow it to the Tioga wagon-road, a short distance east of Porcupine Flat.
