孢子体（sporophyte，英语发音：/spɔːroʊˌfaɪt/）是陆生植物与多细胞藻类世代交替过程中的多细胞二倍体阶段。起始于两个单倍体的配子融合（受精）形成单细胞的二倍体的合子。合子再经过有丝分裂形成多细胞的孢子体。蕨类与种子植物的孢子体远远比配子体更为显着与功能完善，孢子体有根、茎、叶的分化。开花植物的配子体（花粉与子房）极端精简到几个细胞。

孢子体通过减数分裂产生单倍体的孢子。孢子再有丝分裂形成单倍体的配子体。成熟的配子体再产生配子。形成世代交替的一个循环。

苔藓 (苔藓植物门, 地钱纲与角苔纲)的配子体比孢子体更为显着与功能完善。其成熟的孢子体依赖于配子体提供营养。

A sporophyte (/spɔːroʊˌfaɪt/) is the diploid multicellular stage in the life cycle of a plant or alga. It develops from the zygote produced when a haploid egg cell is fertilized by a haploid sperm and each sporophyte cell therefore has a double set of chromosomes, one set from each parent. All land plants, and most multicellular algae, have life cycles in which a multicellular diploid sporophyte phase alternates with a multicellular haploid gametophyte phase. In the seed plants, the Gymnosperms and flowering plants (Angiosperms), the sporophyte phase is more prominent than the gametophyte, and is the familiar green plant with its roots, stem, leaves and cones or flowers. In flowering plants the gametophytes are very reduced in size, and are represented by the pollen and the embryo sac.
