苏格兰语（Scots，在古诗中又称Lallans，意为低地），日耳曼语族中的语言变体之一，通行于苏格兰低地以及阿尔斯特省的部份地区（在阿尔斯特省中，又称为阿尔斯特苏格兰语）。为了与苏格兰盖尔语作区分，又称为低地苏格兰语（Scots leid，英语：Lowland Scots）。低地苏格兰语约略自12世纪开始发展，自16世纪初定型命名称呼至今。低地苏格兰语语法及用法与英语十分相似，该语言长期和英语平行演化，即一种自古时便历久存在的同源变体，有时被视为独立的语言，有时被视为英语的方言之一，其界定具争议性。

Scots is the Germanic language variety spoken in Lowland Scotland and parts of Ulster (where the local dialect is known as Ulster Scots). It is sometimes called Lowland Scots to distinguish it from Scottish Gaelic, the Celtic language which was historically restricted to most of the Highlands, the Hebrides and Galloway after the Middle Ages.
