中微子探测器 Neutrino detector

微中子探测器是观测微中子的实验设备。 由于微中子只参与弱交互作用，一般探测器需要建造得够大，以接收到足够数量的微中子信号。 微中子探测器一般会选择建造在地底深处，以屏蔽宇宙射线以及其它背景辐射。微中子天文学目前仍未成熟，现今已确认来自地球以外的信号来源只有太阳和超新星SN 1987A。然而未来微中子观测站将「为天文学家提供透析宇宙的展新视野」。

A neutrino detector is a physics apparatus which is designed to study neutrinos. Because neutrinos only weakly interact with other particles of matter, neutrino detectors must be very large in order to detect a significant number of neutrinos. Neutrino detectors are often built underground, to isolate the detector from cosmic rays and other background radiation. The field of neutrino astronomy is still very much in its infancy – the only confirmed extraterrestrial sources so far are the Sun and supernova SN1987A. Neutrino observatories will "give astronomers fresh eyes with which to study the universe."
