末次冰期（英语：Last glacial period）是距今时间最近的一次冰期，发生于第四纪的更新世晚期，始于约11万年前，终于1.2万年前。

末次冰期内，各地冰盖亦曾出现数次的进退。冰退称为间冰段，格陵兰的冰芯钻探表明，过去十万年的末次冰期共有24个间冰段。 这一现象称作丹斯伽阿德-厄施格尔周期（Dansgaard–Oeschger event）。末次冰期的最盛期发生于约1.8万年前。一般而言，全球冷却及冰川前进的模式相似，但也有局部的分野，这使得很难以大洲来比较。

末次冰期有时又会被俗称为「末冰河时期」，不过这并不正确。因为冰河时期（大冰期）是大部份地球被大冰原覆盖的一段持续上千万年的地质历史时期。冰河时期由多个交替出现的冰期与间冰期组成。另一方面，冰期是指冰河时期内部，在两次间冰期之间的一段较寒冷的时期。故此，末次冰期的终末并非末次冰河时期的终末。末次冰期约于1万年前完结，而末冰河时期的终结并未到来。几乎没有证据表明已经持续了数百万年的“冰期－间冰期循环”已告终结。

The last glacial period, popularly known as the Ice Age, was the most recent glacial period within the Quaternary glaciation occurring during the last 100,000 years of the Pleistocene, from approximately 110,000 to 12,000 years ago (see chart). Scientists consider this "ice age" to be merely the latest glaciation event in a much larger ice age, one that dates back over two million years and has seen multiple glaciations.
