康泰时、或译康泰克斯（CONTAX）原为德国蔡司公司(德文为Zeiss Ikon，蔡司．依康)于1932年生产旁轴相机（Range Finder）所使用的品牌，头一个字母大写，其余小写。二战后，随着德国的分裂，蔡司公司也一分为二。西德蔡司以Contax品牌继续生产旁轴相机，东德蔡司则开始生产M42接环的单眼相机（SLR）。东德蔡司后来商标改用Pentacon或Praktica，而西德蔡司制造的Contax相机后来于1961年停止生产，Contax历史进入沉睡期。到了1971年，西德蔡司与日本Yashica公司合作，CONTAX就此复活，并成为Yashica公司制造贩售、并采用卡尔．蔡司镜头的高级相机品牌（此时的CONTAX一字所有的字母均为大写）。Yashica公司于1983年被京瓷公司并购，京瓷公司继续负责康泰时相机的生产和销售。2004年，京瓷缩减数字相机事业，并于隔年4月11日正式宣布自该年9月起终止康泰时相机业务，停产镜头。康泰时品牌再度沉寂。

Contax was a camera brand, started in 1932, noted for its technical innovation and wide range of Zeiss lenses, known for their high optical quality. The final products under the Contax name were a line of 35 mm, medium format, and digital cameras engineered and manufactured by Kyocera, and featuring modern Zeiss optics. In 2005, Kyocera announced that it would no longer produce Contax cameras.
