主音音乐 Homophony

主音音乐(大陆将主音音乐称为主调音乐)是一种与复音音乐相对立的音乐分类。主音音乐作品以其中某一个声部(多数情况是高音部)作为旋律(即「主音」),其余声部以和声或节奏等手法,作为陪衬和伴奏。(相反的,复音音乐则是每个声部都是地位相等的旋律,并互为彼此的和声与节奏。)

主音音乐的特点,是音乐形象明显,旋律明晰,感情表达明确,欣赏者较容易融入其中,也容易朗朗上口。主音音乐最重要的创作概念是和声学,与复音音乐重视对位法的概念不同。

一般认为主音音乐在18世纪时才成为西洋音乐的主流,在此之前是以复音音乐为主的宗教音乐为音乐主流。尽管如此,现代的西洋音乐即使以主音音乐为主,但仍或多或少的都运用了一些复音音乐的手法,尤其是表现庄严气氛的宗教性音乐尤其如此。

In music, homophony (/həˈmɒfəni, h-, -ˈmɒfni/; Greek: ὁμόφωνος, homóphōnos, from ὁμός, homós, "same" and φωνή, phōnē, "sound, tone") is a texture in which a primary part is supported by one or more additional strands that flesh out the harmony and often provide rhythmic contrast. This differentiation of roles contrasts with equal-voice polyphony (in which similar lines move with rhythmic and melodic independence to form an even texture) and monophony (in which all parts move in unison or octaves). Historically, homophony and its differentiated roles for parts emerged in tandem with tonality, which gave distinct harmonic functions to the soprano, bass and inner voices.
