大山脚（马来语：Bukit Mertajam，简称BM）是马来西亚北部槟城州境内第二大繁忙市镇，位于威省中部。市区居民以华裔为主，当中又以潮州人占多数，故潮州语在市区一带是重要沟通语言，但华语、马来语及英语也被广泛使用。日新学校（小学与中学）是华裔创办的知名学校。大山脚是一个国会选区，其下共有3个州议席，即武拉必区 (Berapit)、巴当拉浪区 (Padang Lallang)和马章武莫区 (Machang Bubok)。

它也是马来西亚槟城岛近郊第二大城，也有老街之称。

大山脚市会交通繁忙是因面积小又邻郊另外两地，阿儿玛和马章勿莫。大山脚是个三地城。

The town of Bukit Mertajam is named after the nearby hill with the highest peak at 547 m above sea level. The hill is named after the Mertajam tree (Lepisanthes rubiginosa). It is a tree with white flowers that can grow up to 5-12 m tall.
