语义学（英语：Semantics，法语：La sémantique），也作「语意学」，是一个涉及到语言学、逻辑学、计算机科学、自然语言处理、认知科学、心理学等诸多领域的一个术语。虽然各个学科之间对语义学的研究有一定的共同性，但是具体的研究方法和内容大相径庭。语义学的研究对象是自然语言的意义，这里的自然语言可以是词汇，句子，篇章等等不同级别的语言单位。但是各个领域里对语言的意义的研究目的不同：

语义学的创建以法国学者米歇尔·布勒阿尔（Micchel Bréal）1897年出版的《语义学探究》（Essai de Sémantiqus）一书为标志。

Semantics (from Ancient Greek: σημαντικός sēmantikós, "significant") is the study of meaning. It focuses on the relationship between signifiers—like words, phrases, signs, and symbols—and what they stand for, their denotation. Linguistic semantics is the study of meaning that is used for understanding human expression through language. Other forms of semantics include the semantics of programming languages, formal logics, and semiotics. In international scientific vocabulary semantics is also called semasiology.
