Salvia cyclostegia is a perennial plant that is native to forests, grasslands, and hillsides in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in China, growing at elevations from 2,700 to 3,300m (8,900 to 10,800ft). The leaves are broadly ovate to circular, and range in size from 2.3 to 13cm (0.91 to 5.12in) long and 1.2 to 6.5cm (0.47 to 2.56in) wide.
