豪猪，又称箭猪，是一类披有尖刺的啮齿目，可以用来防御掠食者。豪猪是啮齿目中体型第三大的，仅次于水豚及河狸，但与刺猬不同。大部份豪猪约长60—90厘米，尾巴长20—25厘米，重5—16公斤。牠们圆润及行动缓慢。豪猪有褐色、灰色及白色。

不同豪猪物种的刺有不同的形状，不过所有都是改变了的毛发，表面上有一层角质素，嵌入在皮肤的肌肉组织。旧大陆豪猪（豪猪科）的刺是一束束的，而新大陆豪猪（美洲豪猪科）的刺则是与毛发夹杂在一起。

豪猪的刺锐利，很易脱落，会刺入攻击者中。牠们的刺有倒钩，可以挂在皮肤上，很难除去。牠们的刺长75毫米及阔2毫米。若刺钩在攻击者的组织上，在正常的肌肉运动下，倒钩会令刺插得更深，每日可以深入约几毫米。曾有掠食者因被刺刺中及感染而死去，在死去后刺仍会继续嵌入体内。古代相信豪猪可以掷出牠们刺来攻击敌人，但其实是错误的。

Porcupines are rodents with a coat of sharp spines, or quills, that protect against predators. The term covers two families of animals, the Old World porcupines and New World porcupines. Both families belong to the Hystricognathi branch of the vast order Rodentia and display similar coats of quills, but they still are quite different and are not closely related.
