A photonic laser thruster (PLT) is an amplified laser thruster that generates thrust directly from the momentum of photons stimulated by a laser. Because of the amplification, the photonic laser thruster is at least 1,000 times more energy efficient than photonic thrusters based on conventional photonic propulsion, such as solar sails.
