报纸，或称报章、新闻纸，是一种以重量较轻，价值较低的纸张印刷而成，阅读后即可任意处置的出版品。报纸上通常刊载不同主题的新闻、消息、评论、专栏等，并且常附带有商业广告。这些不同的主题包括政治事件、犯罪、体育、意见、天气、星座运势等等，报纸通常也包括卡通或其他娱乐，如数独、填字游戏。报纸的收入来源是来自读者订阅或购买，以及广告的收入。

在2007年时，世界上有6,580种日报，每天销售将近四亿份。不过在2008金融危机时，由于经济的不景气加上网络媒体的快速发展，造成销售及广告的巨幅下滑，因此许多报纸停刊或缩小规模。但也有许多报社将报纸的内容放在网站中，即为电子报。

A newspaper is a serial publication containing news, other informative articles (listed below), and usually advertising. A newspaper is usually printed on relatively inexpensive, low-grade paper such as newsprint. The news organizations that publish newspapers are themselves often metonymically called newspapers. Most newspapers are now published online as well as in print. The online versions are called online newspapers or news sites.
