远程转移（英语：Metastasis），是指肿瘤细胞从原始发生的部位经由侵入循环系统，转移到身体其他部位继续生长的过程。也称做恶性转移。通常良性肿瘤并不会产生远程转移，而发生转移的病患预后情形都非常差。也因为癌细胞转移到身体各部位，治疗上变的更为困难，几乎不可能使用外科手术切除根治，多半只能用大范围的放射治疗或化疗来抑制已转移的癌细胞继续扩散生长。事实上癌症病患的死亡常是在发生远程转移之后，由于癌细胞转移到身体各重要器官持续生长，影响身体正常功能而导致死亡。所以一般远程转移的发生与否，常被视作癌症患者病程的严重程度以及治疗效果的指标。

Metastasis, or metastatic disease, is the spread of a cancer or other disease from one organ or part of the body to another not directly connected with it. The new occurrences of disease thus generated are referred to as metastases /mə ˈtæs tə siːz/ (sometimes abbreviated "mets"). Metastasis is a Greek word meaning "displacement", from μετά, meta, "next", and στάσις, stasis, "placement".
