类金属（metalloid）是一个用来分类化学元素的化学名词。基于它们的物理和化学特性，几乎所有元素周期表上的化学元素都可被分类为金属或非金属；但也有一些特性介于金属与非金属之间的元素，称为类金属。硼、硅、锗、砷、锑、碲、钋、砹、Uus等8种元素一般被视为类金属。 “类金属”一词并没有明确的定义，但类金属一般被认为拥有以下特性：

类金属的外观多半类似金属，但只是弱的电导体。在化学特性上，比较像弱的非金属，可以和金属形成合金。大部份类金属的物理特性及化学特性都介于金属和非金属之间。类金属材质容易脆裂，不适合应用在结构上，类金属及其化合物常用在合金、塑胶阻燃剂、玻璃、光保存设备及半导体。硅和锗的电子特性带来了1950年代半导体产业以及1960年代固态电子器件的发展。

A metalloid is a chemical element with properties in between, or that are a mixture of, those of metals and nonmetals. There is neither a standard definition of a metalloid nor complete agreement on the elements appropriately classified as such. Despite the lack of specificity, the term remains in use in the literature of chemistry.
