Mecklenburg (German pronunciation:[ˈmeːklənbʊʁk], Low German: Mękelborg) is a historical region in northern Germany comprising the western and larger part of the federal-state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The largest cities of the region are Rostock, Schwerin, Neubrandenburg, Wismar and Güstrow.
