Mercaptopurine


Mercaptopurine (also called 6-mercaptopurine, 6-MP or its brand name Purinethol) is an immunosuppressive medication. It is used to treat acute lymphocytic leukemia, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis. It is a thiopurine.
It is on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines, the most important medications needed in a basic health system.
