The enhanced Fujita scale rates tornadoes based on how much damage they cause. We don't know how big that Fujita scale will be, how big that tornado will be literally until after we look at the damage. Ten-second trivia: The Enhanced Fujita scale is used to measure the intensity of what? The Enhanced Fujita scale rates tornadoes from EF-0, the less damaging, to EF-5, the most destructive. So now the EF scale, Enhanced Fujita scale, starts at zero, goes only to five, and anything above 200 miles per hour is considered an EF 5 tornado.

Fujita scale 藤田级数![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Fujita scale (F-Scale), or Fujita–Pearson scale, is a scale for rating tornado intensity, based primarily on the damage tornadoes inflict on human-built structures and vegetation. The official Fujita scale category is determined by meteorologists and engineers after a ground or aerial damage survey, or both; and depending on the circumstances, ground-swirl patterns (cycloidal marks), radar tracking, eyewitness testimonies, media reports and damage imagery, as well as photogrammetry or videogrammetry if motion picture recording is available. The F-Scale was replaced with the Enhanced Fujita scale (EF-Scale) in the United States in February 2007. |
