  东部马脑炎病毒（英文：Eastern Equine Encephalitis，简称：EEE）为一种马因病毒而感染的疾病。常见于美洲及加勒比海一带。最早在1831年于美国马萨诸塞州发现。因为病毒较常感染美国东部省份的马类，因此被称为东部马脑炎病毒。（有一种比较温和的病毒较常见于美国西部，请参考西部马脑炎病毒） 感染此病毒而引致死亡的机率甚高，在马类的死亡机率为70-80%，而人也有50%的死亡机率。病毒会经由蚊子感染人、鸟和两栖动物。

 Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEE), commonly called Triple E or, sleeping sickness (not to be confused with Trypanosomiasis) is a zoonotic alphavirus and arbovirus present in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. EEE was first recognized in Massachusetts, USA in 1831 when 75 horses died mysteriously of viral encephalitis. |
