  荷属新几内亚（荷兰语：Nederlands Nieuw-Guinea）为新几内亚西部为荷兰殖民时期的官方名称。其知名的通称为Dutch New Guinea。 荷属新几内亚目前分属于印度尼西亚最东方的两个省份──巴布亚省以及西伊里安查亚省 （2003年之前，其同属于伊里安查亚省）。 自1898年至1949年，荷属新几内亚为荷属东印度所辖下的一部份。 1949年，荷属东印度停止运作而成为完全独立的印度尼西亚，荷兰重新得到新几内亚西部的主权，并准备创建一个独立国家。约5千名教员飞往该处，荷兰推行政治、商业以及公民技能。其第一批本土海军军校学生毕业于1955年，而第一支陆军部队成立于1956年。

  Netherlands New Guinea (Dutch:Nederlands-Nieuw-Guinea) refers to the West Papua region while it was an overseas territory of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 1949 to 1962. Until 1949 it was a part of the Dutch East Indies. It was commonly known as Dutch New Guinea. It contained what are now Indonesia's two easternmost provinces, Papua and West Papua (administered under a unified government prior to 2003 under the name Irian Jaya). |
