中庸

《中庸》是儒家经典的《四书》之一。原是《小戴礼记》第三十一篇，内文的写成约在战国末期至西汉之间，作者是谁尚无定论，一说是孔伋所作（子思着《中庸》），载于另一说是秦代或汉代的学者所作。宋朝的儒学家对中庸非常推崇而将其从《礼记》中抽出独立成书，朱熹则将其与《论语》、《孟子》、《大学》合编为《四书》。

「中庸」在字面上的解释即是“中道及常理”之意。而执中又当求「中和」，在一个人还没有表现出喜怒哀乐时的的平静情绪为「中」，表现出情绪之后经过调整而符合常理为「和」。其主旨在于修养人性。其中关联及学习的方式（博学、审问、慎思、明辨、笃行），做人的规范如「五达道」（君臣、父子、夫妇、昆弟（兄弟）、朋友之交）和「三达德」（智、仁、勇）等。中庸所追求的修养的最高境界是「至诚」。而三字经云：「中不偏，庸不易。」
