兽医 Veterinary physician（重定向自Doctor of Veterinary Medicine）
    兽医是给动物治疗疾病的医生。一般分为「小型动物」和「大型动物」两大派系。除了以药物进行内科治疗疾病之外，也可以以外科手术进行医疗或其他服务，如兽医通常还提供阉割或去势动物，在某些国家中会提供切除动物声带，去味等服务。 兽医通常分为两种。一种是畜牧业兽医，专门为畜养的家畜，比如猪，牛，鸡治疗疾病。另一种是近年兴起的宠物兽医，专门为个人饲养的宠物比如猫和狗治疗疾病。但因人与动物因经济开发需要而接触频度上升，兽医服务范围相形扩大，因此有所谓专科医生的出现，如在动物园服务的野生动物医生；因公共卫生部门也开始需要大量的兽医进行疾病调查，畜产品检验与把关，也有所谓的屠体卫生检验兽医或公共卫生兽医官等等。
