金绿宝石（英语：Chrysoberyl）是一种铍铝氧化物宝石，主要化学成分是铍的铝酸盐，化学式为BeAl₂O₄，主要产于花岗伟晶岩、细晶岩和云母片岩中，也作为碎屑矿物见于砂砾层中。“金绿宝石”这一名字源自希腊语，是“金黄色绿柱石”的意思，但今日说到金黄色绿柱石则指的是金黄色的绿柱石。

金绿宝石一般具有玻璃光泽到亚金刚光泽，颜色为黄到绿色，具有三色性。其中的黄色来源于铁离子，而其中含有的微量元素如铬和钛会引起特殊的光学效应，其中具有变色效应的金绿宝石称为变石；具有猫眼效应的金绿宝石称为猫眼；同时具有变色和猫眼效应的称为猫眼变石，两者都不具备的，则直接使用金绿宝石这一名称。

The mineral or gemstone chrysoberyl is an aluminate of beryllium with the formula BeAl₂O₄. The name chrysoberyl is derived from the Greek words χρυσός chrysos and βήρυλλος beryllos, meaning "a gold-white spar". Despite the similarity of their names, chrysoberyl and beryl are two completely different gemstones, although they both contain beryllium. Chrysoberyl is the third-hardest frequently encountered natural gemstone and lies at 8.5 on the hardness scale, between corundum (9) and topaz (8).
