The vessels feeding your digestive organs constrict, which increases resistance there, so more blood goes to the skeletal muscles in your legs. The sympathetic system, in times of high stress, does things like speed up your heart rate and direct blood away from the digestive organs and to the muscles. Normally, this is supposed to divert blood from the parts you're not using during times of stress, like your digestive organs, to the parts that you are using. Beyond these layers, the GI tract gets tons of support from the accessory digestive organs, like your teeth, and your tongue, your gallbladder, salivary glands, liver, and pancreas. In peristalsis, the smooth muscles of the walls of your digestive organs take turns contracting and relaxing to squeeze food through the lumen, or cavity, of your alimentary tract. TED-Ed(视频版) Finally, there's the mesentery, a large stretch of tissue that supports and positions all your digestive organs in the abdomen, enabling them to do their jobs. And here, the accessory digestive organs — namely, the liver, pancreas and gallbladder — secrete enzymes into the alimentary canal, where they ambush the mush and break it down into its most basic chemical building blocks. Finally, there are eel-traps or lobster-pot traps -- passive traps that force prey to move toward the plant's digestive organ by having little inward-pointing hairs that keep prey from moving backward out of the trap.

消化作用 Digestion(重定向自Digestive Organs)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Digestion is the breakdown of large insoluble food molecules into small water-soluble food molecules so that they can be absorbed into the watery blood plasma. In certain organisms, these smaller substances are absorbed through the small intestine into the blood stream. Digestion is a form of catabolism that is often divided into two processes based on how food is broken down: mechanical and chemical digestion. The term mechanical digestion refers to the physical breakdown of large pieces of food into smaller pieces which can subsequently be accessed by digestive enzymes. In chemical digestion, enzymes break down food into the small molecules the body can use. |
