排灯节（梵文：दीपावली、Dīpāvali；马拉地语:दिवाळी、Diwali；印地语：दिवाली、Diwali；泰米尔语：தீபாவளி、Deepavali），又译为万灯节、印度灯节，也称光明节，或者屠妖节，是一个五天的节日，于每年印度历八月（天蝎宫）里的第15个满月日（即公历10月下旬或11月上旬）举行。耆那教、印度教与锡克教庆祝「以光明驱走黑暗，以善良战胜邪恶」的节日。后来，印度光明节也被看作“内心之光”的庆典，一些佛教信徒也庆祝这个节日。瓦腊纳西是主要庆祝该节日的城市。

Diwali (or Deepavali, the "festival of lights") is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn (northern hemisphere) or spring (southern hemisphere) every year. Arguably the most important festival in Hinduism, it is an official holiday in Fiji, Guyana, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness or good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed. The festival preparations and rituals typically extend over a five-day period, but the main festival night of Diwali coincides with the darkest, new moon night of the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika. In the Gregorian calendar, Diwali night falls between mid-October and mid-November.
