风冷，又称气冷，是冷却方式的一种，即用空气作为媒介冷却需要冷却的物体。通常是加大需要冷却的物体的表面积，或者是加快单位时间内空气流过物体的速率，抑或是两种方法共用。前者可依靠在物体表面加散热片来实现，通常把散热片挂在物体外，或是固定在物体上以使散热更高效。后者可用风扇（风机）来加强通风、强化冷却效果。大多数情况下，加入散热片可以使冷却效率大大提高。

在任何情况下，所用的空气都要比物体及其表面的温度低，才能带走热量，这是由于热力学第二定律的约束，即不可能把热量从低温物体传到高温物体而不引起其他变化。

Air cooling is a method of dissipating heat. It works by expanding the surface area of or increasing the flow of air over the object to be cooled, or both. An example of the former is to add cooling fins to the surface of the object, either by making them integral or by attaching them tightly to the object's surface (to ensure efficient heat transfer). In the case of the latter, it is done by using a fan blowing air into or onto the object one wants to cool. The addition of fins to a heat sink increases its total surface area, resulting in greater cooling effectiveness.
