资本成本

资本成本是资本提供者对其投资的预期收益。

由于投资所需承担的风险，资本提供者对其投资的资本要求一定的回报。对于可行的投资计划，预期的资本回报率必须大于资本成本。也就是说，风险调整后的资本回报率（不仅仅是预计的回报，而是能得到预计回报的概率）必须大于资本成本。

债务成本因为只考虑利率，相对来说比较容易计算。商业实践中，支付的利率包括无风险利率加上由可能违约所造成风险调整因素。对于有相同风险结构或者信用评级的公司，利率主要由外生因素决定。

股权成本由于股票收益的不确定性，所以比较难以计算。和债务成本一样，股权成本定义为投资者期望的风险加权预计收益，其中预期收益很难预测。所以股权成本由其他具有类似风险性质的投资间接计算。资本成本常常被用来用作折现率，将未来预计的现金流折现成现值或者净现值。
