南美解放者杯（西班牙语：Copa Libertadores de América）是一项由南美洲各支顶级球会之间竞争的最高荣誉的国际足球赛事，赛事等级相等于欧洲的冠军联赛，于1960年举行首届赛事，由南美洲足球协会负责举办。虽然南美解放者杯只规定南美足协所属球会参与（合共十个国家包括巴西、阿根廷、乌拉圭、巴拉圭、秘鲁、智利、厄瓜多尔尔、哥伦比亚、委内瑞拉及玻利维亚），但近来南美解放者杯已经放宽给墨西哥球会参加，2006年墨西哥球会瓜达拉哈拉并曾经晋身赛事四强。

南美解放者杯的得名其实来自一班为南美洲国家争取独立的伟大领袖而命名，他们包括西蒙·玻利瓦尔、佩德罗二世、何塞·德·圣马丁、安东尼奥·何塞·苏克雷及贝纳多·奥希金斯，其后因为表扬这几位领袖为南美洲解放得到自由而将赛事命名为Copa Libertadores de América（英语：Liberators of the Americas Cup），中文译名为南美自由杯或南美解放者杯。

The Copa Libertadores de América (Portuguese:Copa Libertadores da América) is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in Latin American football. The tournament is named in honor of the Libertadores (Spanish and Portuguese for liberators), the main leaders of the South American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its name into English would be "Liberators of America Cup".
