情侣鹦鹉，又称为爱情鹦鹉、爱情鸟（牡丹鹦鹉属 Agapornis，希腊语中“Agape”是爱的意思，而“Ornis”则是雀鸟的意思）。情侣鹦鹉是一种非常喜欢群居及深情亲切的鹦鹉，是“桃面爱情鹦鹉（桃脸情侣鹦鹉、小鹦）、牡丹鹦鹉、黄领牡丹鹦鹉、白面爱情鹦鹉”属内的鹦鹉总称。

情侣鹦鹉因其深情的天性而得名。情侣鹦鹉会与伴侣形影不离，相依相偎，而且多是会厮守终生。因为情侣鹦鹉这个天性，德国人称情侣鹦鹉为“die Unzertrennlichen”，而法国人则牠们为“les inséparables”（即英文中的“Inseparables”，意思是「不可分离」）。亦因为这样，大部份人强烈地认为，情侣鹦鹉必须是一对一对地饲养。有些人相信，情侣鹦鹉像其他的鹦鹉一样，只要得到足够的关心及照顾，情侣鹦鹉可以与人创建一个友伴关系。

A lovebird is one of nine species of the genus Agapornis (Greek: αγάπη agape 'love'; όρνις ornis 'bird'). They are a social and affectionate small parrot. Eight species are native to the African continent, and the grey-headed lovebird is native to Madagascar. Their name stems from the parrots' strong, **** pair bonding and the long periods which paired birds spend sitting together. Lovebirds live in small flocks and eat fruit, vegetables, grasses and seed. Black-winged lovebirds also eat insects and figs, and the black-collared lovebirds have a special dietary requirement for native figs, making them problematic to keep in captivity.
