真蛸（Octopus vulgaris），是属于章鱼科章鱼属的头足动物。在世界各地的热带和温带海域皆有分布，人们经常说的普通八爪鱼（普通章鱼）就是指这个品种。

体长（包括触手）约60厘米，触手的长度约是躯体（所谓的「头」）的3倍，不过躯体可以自由伸缩。身体表面的疣密生，皮肤色素细胞全身分布。能随周围环境变更体色和身体长度，在岩石和海藻中表现出很好的拟态。

The common octopus (Octopus vulgaris) is a mollusc belonging to the class Cephalopoda. The animal belongs to the Superphylum Lophotrochozoa, being considered a protostome and having thus a coelom. Octopus vulgaris is the most studied of all octopus species.
