A&F在1892年由大卫·亚伯克朗比（David T. Abercrombie）于曼哈顿创立，而后律师埃兹拉·费区加入经营。主要贩卖高级运动和旅行服饰及用品。之后在1960年代公司经历了财务危机，直到1988年被The Limited公司购并并重新规划品牌定位后后才得以解决，之后转由麦可·杰佛瑞斯掌管，目前品牌诉求为「休闲奢华」品牌

It has over 300 locations in the United States, and is expanding internationally. The company operates two offshoot brands: Abercrombie Kids and Hollister Co., in addition to two brands, Ruehl No.925 and Gilly Hicks, that closed in early 2010 and 2015, respectively.
