Advani
Advani (आडवाणी/اڈوانی/ آڏواڻي, Sindhi:آڏواڻِي) is a Hindu Sindhi family name, the Romanisation of which is Advani [aˑᶑʋaˑɳiˑ]. It is found among people of Sindhi descent from Sindh region, now in present-day Sindh province of Pakistan. Most have immigrated to the Republic of India after independence in 1947. Sindhi surnames often include the suffix -ani after their grandfather's forename or after their village in Sindh, in memory of it. Thus, Advani can mean either ‘from the village of Advan’ or ‘(descendant) of Adu’, where Adu is presumably the personal name of an ancestor.
