Chengalpattu, formerly known as Chingleput, is a suburb of south chennai city and southwestern of Kanchipuram region in Kanchipuram district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The British Government Named this Whole District as Chingleput District. At the end of 20th Century this District is Named as Kanchipuram District. It is the 2nd Largest Town in the District after Kanchipuram.
