Chadderton

The front of a grand red-brick two-storey structure that is viewed from the ground upwards. It has a complex facade with a central entranceway surrounded by many windows at regular intervals. The roof is crowned by a green cupola and the clear sky appears as a vivid azure.

Built in 1926, Elk mill (on the Royton-Chadderton boundary)[16] was one of the UK's largest and most modern cotton mills. It closed in 1998 and was demolished in 1999.

Chadderton (pop. 34,818) is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, England. It lies along the course of the River Irk and the Rochdale Canal, on undulating land in the foothills of the Pennines, 1 mile (1.6 km) west of Oldham, 4.5 miles (7.2 km) south of Rochdale, and 6 miles (9.7 km) northeast of the city of Manchester.
