Black Volta is a river that flows through Burkina Faso flowing about 1,352 km (840 mi) to the White Volta in Dagbon. The Black Volta separates the Northern region of Dagbon's southern border and the Brong-Ahafo of Ashantiland's northern border. Black Volta forms a small part of the international border between Ashantiland and between Dagbon and Ivory Coast, and also a section of border between Dagbon and Burkina Faso, rising in western Burkina Faso.
