威廉·S·柏洛兹（英语：William S. Burroughs，1914年2月5日－1997年8月2日）是一位美国小说家、散文家、社会评论家以及说故事表演者。身为垮掉的一代的主要成员，他是影响流行文化以及文学的前卫作家。他被认为是＂最会挖苦政治、最具文化影响力和最具创新力的20世纪艺术家之一＂ 柏洛兹生平总共发表了18本长篇及短篇小说、6部短篇故事集和4部论文集。另外有五本书收录了关于他的访问及书信集。柏洛兹同时也参与了数量众多的表演项目、音乐纪录及电影演出。

他出生于密苏里州圣路易斯的一个富裕家庭，Burroughs Corporation创办人William Seward Burroughs I 的孙子、公共关系经理Ivy Lee的姪子。柏洛兹于青春期早期着手开始写文章与报导。于1932年离家前往哈佛大学研读英语与人类学，但在二战时被战略情报局与美国海军拒绝后，他将往后的二十年用在各种不同的工作上。1943年在纽约市，他结识了艾伦·金斯堡与杰克·凯鲁亚克，他们之间相互促成了后来垮掉的一代文学的根本，一个牵涉药物依赖的反主流文**动；也从此影响了他的一生。

William Seward Burroughs II (/ˈbʌroʊz/ BURR-ohz; also known by his pen name William Lee; February 5, 1914 – August 2, 1997) was an American novelist, short story writer, satirist, essayist, painter, and spoken word performer. A primary figure of the Beat Generation and a major postmodernist author who wrote in the paranoid fiction genre, he is considered to be "one of the most politically trenchant, culturally influential, and innovative artists of the 20th century". His influence is considered to have affected a range of popular culture as well as literature. Burroughs wrote eighteen novels and novellas, six collections of short stories and four collections of essays. Five books have been published of his interviews and correspondences. He also collaborated on projects and recordings with numerous performers and musicians, and made many appearances in films.
