生物柴油 Biodiesel

生物柴油（Biodiesel），又称为生质柴油，是用未加工过的或者使用过的植物油以及动物脂肪通过不同的化学反应制备出来的一种被认为是环保的生质燃料。这种生物燃料可以像柴油一样使用。
生物柴油最普遍的制备方法是酯交换反应。由植物油和脂肪中占主要成分的甘油三酯与醇（一般是甲醇）在催化剂存在下反应，生成脂肪酸酯。脂肪酸酯的物理和化学性质与柴油非常相近甚至更好。
