Local media say Japan's third round of radioactive water discharge begins on Thursday.

The Changjiang Water Resources Commission, an affiliate of the ministry that governs the Yangtze basin, will assess the situation continuously and may increase the water discharge from the reservoir accordingly, the ministry said.

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the plant's operator, said the water discharge commenced at around 1pm local time (4am GMT), while concerns and opposition persisting among local fishermen, and in neighboring countries and Pacific island countries.
