水危机是联合国及其他国际组织用来泛指自1970年以来世界性的水资源相对人类需求的状况，主要的危机来源是可用水的匮乏以及水体污染。

与水有关的疾病和缺乏卫生的家用食水是世界上死亡个案的一大原因，与水有关的疾病更是五岁以下儿童死亡的最大原因。在任何时间，世界上躺在医院病床上的病人有一半是染上与水有关的疾病。根据世界银行数据，88%疾病是因饮用不洁食水导致。

Sustainable development will not be achieved without a water secure world.
