华盛顿纪念碑（英文：Washington Monument），是美国首都华盛顿哥伦比亚特区的地标，为纪念美国总统乔治·华盛顿而建造，石碑建筑物的内部中空，是世界最高的石制建筑，原本米尔斯的最初设计是在底部有开国英雄柱廊围绕着华盛顿纪念碑，但在美国工兵处陆军上校凯西被托付重新设计地基与塔身之后，他放弃了柱廊的构想，专注于方尖碑的建造，并将地基挖深、以古埃及的比例重新设计主塔。

1833年美国国会通过建案，建筑费用由全民乐捐，每人捐款上限为一美元，蓝图由米尔斯（Robert Mills）设计。其间因建筑经费告罄，停摆了22年，1876年又重新复工，由美国陆军工兵队负责，经费由政府负担。整个工程于1884年12月6日峻工，并四年后开放观光。石碑是以白色大理石建成方尖型，高度是169.3公尺，东面是国会大厦，西部是林肯纪念堂，北面是白宫，南面是杰佛逊纪念堂，内墙镶嵌着188块由全球各地捐赠的纪念石。登上169公尺高的华盛顿纪念碑，可俯瞰波托马克盆地全貌。美国政府于1899年宣布：「华盛顿特区任何建筑物的高度都不可以超过华盛顿纪念碑」。

The Washington Monument is an obelisk on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., built to commemorate George Washington, once commander-in-chief of the Continental Army and the first American president. Standing almost due east of the Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial, the monument, made of marble, granite, and bluestone gneiss, is both the world's tallest stone structure and the world's tallest obelisk, standing 554 feet 7 ⁄₃₂ inches (169.046 m) tall. It is the tallest monumental column in the world if all are measured above their pedestrian entrances, but two are taller when measured above ground, though they are neither all stone nor true obelisks.
