Wamac is a city in Clinton County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,185 at the 2010 census. The town sits on the joining lines of adjacent three counties: Washington, Marion and Clinton. It derives its name from the first letters of those counties. It was incorporated as a city on July 25, 1916.
