The wine was a very special Sauterne, the whole appointments of the meal perfect, the coffee served on the veranda super-excellent. 酒是一种特别的绍登酒,所有的菜都点得尽善尽美,在走廊上喝的咖啡可以叫绝。
Although they were out in the burbs, they wanted to keep a measure of the sheen of their downtown life – martinis on the veranda, not tea parties in the garden. 尽管在芳邻,他们想要保留城市生活的闪光的方法——在游廊上放马丁尼酒,而不是在花园里开茶宴。
A veranda or verandah (from Hindi varanda, IPA:[vɐˈɾɐ̃dɐ]) is a roofed, open-air gallery or porch. A veranda is often partly enclosed by a railing and frequently extends across the front and sides of the structure.
Although the form "verandah" is correct and very common, some authorities prefer the version without an h (the Concise Oxford English Dictionary gives the h version as a variant, and The Guardian Style Guide says
"veranda not verandah").
