吸尘机（中国大陆和**皆称之为吸尘器，香港和新加坡称之为吸尘机，日本称之为扫除机，韩国称之为淸扫机）（Robot Vacuum Cleaner)，所指的通常是真空吸尘器，是一种利用气体帮浦制造部分真空，产生吸力并将地板或其他位置的灰尘吸起的设备。是多数已开发国家的家庭中所经常拥有的一种日常家电之一，功能是吸尘及纸屑、头发、微尘等干燥的细小对象。

吸尘器由一位名叫休伯特‧布思(Hubert Cecil Booth)的英国人于1901年左右发明，当时车站用一种没有效率的机器做清洁，布思看到后做了一些改进发明了吸尘器。

A vacuum cleaner is a device that uses an air pump (a centrifugal fan in all but some of the very oldest models), to create a partial vacuum to suck up dust and dirt, usually from floors, and from other surfaces such as upholstery and draperies. The dirt is collected by either a dustbag or a cyclone for later disposal. Vacuum cleaners, which are used in homes as well as in industry, exist in a variety of sizes and models—small battery-powered hand-held devices, wheeled canister models for home use, domestic central vacuum cleaners, huge stationary industrial appliances that can handle several hundred litres of dust before being emptied, and self-propelled vacuum trucks for recovery of large spills or removal of contaminated soil. Specialized shop vacuums can be used to suck up both dust and liquids.
