斯克兰顿大学
斯克兰顿大学（The University of Scranton）是位于美国宾夕法尼亚州东北部斯克兰顿的一所私立天主教大学，成立于1888年，原称圣托马斯学院（St. Thomas College），1938年正式升为大学，改现名。它实际曾先后由斯克兰顿教区和喇沙会管理，1942年时主教威廉·约瑟夫·哈飞（William Joseph Hafey）将其转交给耶稣会。2015年《美国新闻与世界报道》在“北部地区大学”排名中将其列在第7位。

The University of Scranton is a private, co-educational Catholic and Jesuit university, located in Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States, in the northeast region of the state. The school was founded in 1888 by Most Rev. William O'Hara, the first Bishop of Scranton, as St. Thomas College. It was elevated to university status in 1938, taking the name the University of Scranton. The institution was operated by the Diocese of Scranton, and later the ****llian Christian Brothers, from 1888 to 1942. In 1942, Bishop William Joseph Hafey invited the Society of Jesus to take charge of the university. Today, The University of Scranton is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities and is served by the Scranton Jesuit Community.
