伐致呵利（天城体：भर्तृहरि，570年－651年)是古印度在公元7世纪时的语法学家、诗人及印度教哲学家。义净曾在他的著作说他是一位佛教徒，其实是一个误会。

伐致呵利出身贵族，在印度中西部城市、当时摩腊婆的优禅尼（最胜城）出生。在当时，优禅尼是印度的科学及文化中心。据说伐致呵利曾七次尝试出家去过寺院生活，最终成为一名瑜伽修行者。

他的著作《文章单语篇》(Vākyapadīya)是第一部论述语言哲学的重要著作，透过整理梵语而提出的语言发展理论。他认为，语言的发展可以分为以下三个阶段：

In the medieval tradition of Indian scholarship, it was assumed that both texts were written by the same person. Modern philologists were sceptical of this claim, owing to an argument that dated the grammar to a date subsequent to the poetry. Since the 1990s, however, scholars have agreed that both works may indeed have been contemporary, in which case it is plausible that there was only one Bhartrihari who wrote both texts.
