烟斗是流行于美国、欧洲的一种吸烟道具，塞进切好的烟草加上香料后点燃吸烟。最早烟斗主要流行于世界各地原住民，过去美洲原住民与有抽烟斗的习惯。

烟斗这种吸烟道具推估是在有吸烟这种行为时，利用烟斗是最早的吸烟方式。当时除了利用这种烟斗式的吸烟方式以外，也有咀嚼式的与鼻烟式的（SNUFF）。吸烟方式约在16世纪以后从欧洲传到世界各地，各地都出现各式各样不同的烟斗，这样的吸烟方式直到19世纪左右，烟卷（cigarette）的普及为止。

烟斗在构造上就是选一长条形木头，一头较大，中间挖空后做成烟管，较大的一头再挖一个槽用来填装烟草。虽然不难做，但是因为是要将烟草燃烧，所以其材质就很讲究了。一般最常使用的是石楠木，或海泡石（Meerschaum）等材质。

A tobacco pipe, often called simply a pipe, is a device specifically made to smoke tobacco. Pipe smoking is the oldest known traditional form of tobacco smoking.
