贝内迪克特·阿诺德

班奈狄克·阿诺德（英语：Benedict Arnold，1741年1月14日－1801年6月14日），又译作本尼迪克特·阿诺德，是美国独立战争时期的重要军官。阿诺德起初为革命派作战，并且屡立战功，后来却变节投靠英国。这使他在美国仍是极具争议的人物。

阿诺德生于1741年康涅狄格殖民地诺威奇。由于家道中落，阿诺德年纪尚轻便要出外谋生。1757年法国印第安人战争爆发，阿诺德曾短暂加入英国民兵一方，后来在西印度群岛及魁北克省一带从事海路贸易，因而致富。

1760年代，北美殖民地因英国通过《食糖法令》及《印花税法令》，而陷入贸易困难，阿诺德亦不能幸免。故此当列星顿和康科德战役爆发后，阿诺德便志愿加入革命民兵，并率先在攻占提康德罗加堡建功。后来阿诺德又带兵远征魁北克，虽然在魁北克战役失败，却仍能守住提康德罗加堡，掩护了大陆军的侧翼。1777年萨拉托加战役爆发，阿诺德更指挥了两次萨拉托加之战，最终迫使约翰·伯戈因投降。

January 3, 1740] –June 14, 1801) was a general during the American Revolutionary War who originally fought for the American Continental Army but defected to the British Army. While a general on the American side, he obtained command of the fortifications at West Point, New York (future site of the U.S. Military Academy after 1802), overlooking the cliffs at the Hudson River (upriver from British-occupied New York City), and planned to surrender it to the British forces. The plan was exposed in September 1780, and he was commissioned into the British Army as a brigadier general.
