四的禁忌，指基于对「四」这个数字的发音联想的迷信之现象，而厌恶、排斥、回避带「四」的事物。常出现于汉字文化圈内的中国、**、日本、朝鲜半岛、越南以及东南亚的马来西亚、新加坡。

汉字文化圈对「四」字的厌恶起因于其发音容易让人联想到死。因为在汉语的大部份方言中，「四」字的发音和「死」字仅仅在声调上有区别。而在日语和朝鲜语中汉字的读音没有声调，导致「四」和「死」两字的发音更是完全相同。故长期以来民间常视「四」为不吉利的数字，并且在一些敏感的场合中刻意回避。

Tetraphobia (from Greek τετράς - tetras, "four" and φόβος - phobos, "fear") is the practice of avoiding instances of the number 4. It is a superstition most common in East Asian and Southeast Asian regions such as China, ******, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.
