特提斯洋 Tethys Ocean（重定向自Tethys Seaway）
  特提斯洋（Tethys Ocean）又名古地中海，是个中生代时期的海洋，位于劳亚大陆与冈瓦纳大陆之间。 在1893年，奥地利地质学家爱德华·休斯（Eduard Suess）根据阿尔卑斯山脉与非洲的化石纪录， 提出过去在劳亚大陆与冈瓦纳大陆之间，曾有个浅内海存在者。休斯将这个史前海域命名为特提斯海（Tethys Sea），以希腊神话中的海神忒堤斯为名。后来提出的板块构造论，推翻了休斯的许多假设，并将特提斯海改为特提斯洋（Tethys Ocean）。但是，休斯的特提斯海概念仍有其正确处，并在当时引起相当大的关注，因此休斯仍被认为是特提斯海与特提斯洋的发现者。
